Study at La Trobe University

New Elective: "Effective Communication for the Global Workplace" La Trobe has developed a new elective in response to the industry need for graduates with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This elective subject is available to postgraduate and third year undergraduate students and is equivalent to a normal 15 credit points subject.

In this unit, students will develop a range of competencies to enable them to effectively communicate in the global workplace. Students will be able to analyse and apply effective written, oral and interpersonal communication approaches and strategies appropriate for relevant professional contexts.

Students will apply problem-solving skills to find creative solutions in a range of case studies addressing workplace issues.

In working collaboratively, they will reflect on communication skills and processes, which enable teams to be successful. 

Students will also critically reflect on and evaluate ethical principles in academic, professional and work environments.
